요약 : 오른뺨을 때린 자들에게 왼뺨도 내어주고, 속옷을 달라는 자에게 겉옷도 줄수 있는 자는, 우리가 먼저 예수 그리스도의 오른뺨을 때렸고, 속옷을 찢었으며, 못을 받았으며, 우리 죄가 그분을 십자가의 저주로 내몰았지만, 그 원수와 같은 우리를 사랑으로 감싸주시고, 은혜로 구원에 참예할수 있게 하였다는 것을 깊이 깨닫는 자만이, 그렇게 우리또한 예수님처럼, 왼뺨도 내어주고, 더 같이 걸어주고, 겉옷도 덤으로 줄수 있다. 왜 그렇게 해야 하는가? 예수그리스도의 원수 갚음이 아닌 사랑으로, 우리가 하나님께 나아올수 있었듯이, 우리의 그러한 자비로운 모습으로, 우리를 공격하는 자들또한 예수 그리스도의 사랑을 볼수 있으며, 구원앞에 이를 가능성이 있기 때문이다. 우리가 원수를 갚아 버린다면, 그것으로 인하여, 한 영혼이 하나님앞에 나올수 있는 기회를, 구원으로 오를수 있는 사다리를 우리가 먼저 올랐다 하여 차버리는 행위가 될수 있다는 것이다. 원수를 사랑하자. 우리가 원래 원수들이었지 않는가?
Matthew 5:38-48
“You have heard that it was said, 'eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
You have heard that ti was said 'Love your neighbour and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
우리를 대적하는 자들에게 우리는 똑같이 대적하지 말고, 오히려 내어주라라는 의미.
This scripture tells us to refrain from taking revenge, but rather, give what our enemies want.
이는 우리가 단순히 인내로, 할수 있는 것이 아니다. 우리의 오기로 할수 있는 것이 아니라,
전인격적인 변화가 있어야 이것이 가능한것이다.
We know that this is beyond human ablility and patience. It is in our nature to take revenge, and at least wanting to take revenge. (Example of this girl who was killed by a failed asylum seeker, who was given right to remain in the UK for he has young family. Whole of UK is upset with human rights law, which prevented us taking relevant action on the aggressor.
왼뺨을 맞았다고, '아 성경에 오른쪽도 내놓으라고 했지' 그래, 내어줘야 겠다. 그리고 오른쪽 뺨까지 데주는 것이 아니라...
We can't just get hit and think 'oh, hold on the scriptures said I should give the other
첫째, 우리의 잘못으로 왼뺨 맞을 짓을 하면 안되고 (Be Perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. What good does it bring if you are punished for your wrong doing?)
둘째, 우리의 잘못이 아닌, 의를 위하여 받은 박해인 경우, 우리는 오히려 그들을 위해서, 기도해주고, 용서해줘야 한다는 것이다. If we are being persecuted for being right, then we ought to pray and forgive.
이는 온전히 그리스도의 사랑을 깊게 깨달은 자만이, 그 사랑의 의미를 알고, 그 사랑 안에 거하며, 우리가 오히려, 예수 그리스도의 왼뺨, 오른뺨, 왼발, 오른발에 못을 박았지만, 그의 사랑으로 우리가 용서함을 받았다는 빚진 마음을 아는 자만이, '저절로' 나오게 되는 것이다.
This does not come easy, but only those who received and knows that
1. We used to be the aggressor
2. We deserved to be retaliated
3. But God forgave us and showed us grace.
4. The love of Jesus lives with us, and we live on borrowed life.
Those know fully understand our 'past' can do this. They can do this easily.
We were the ones who hit Jesus, who struck Jesus, who nailed him.
그런 자들은, 우리를 때리는 자들에게도, 자비함과, 용서하는 마음 그리고 사랑하는 마음을 갖으며, 왼뺨을 맞더라도, 그 사람을 놓치지 않고자, 그 사람에게 죄가 쌓이지 않고자, 그사람에게 내가 갖은 사랑이 전달이 되고자, 오른 뺨까지 맞는 챙피함을 받더라도, 끝까지 매달리는 것이다.
With mercy, forgiving hear, we may be hurt but because of the love for that person,
(1) to save them,
(2) to have them understand the love of Jesus we possess,
(3) and not to cause that person to sin further.
We, with love God gives us, we can turn ther other cheek
Rev. Son Yang-Won, is well known for his steadfast faith he held onto during five years of his hardship. He was incarcerated by the Japanese colonialists for refusing to worship the Japanese Shinto god.
He loved anybody and everybody including such social outcasts as lepers. His love of others was so special that people started calling him "Atomic Bomb of Love." In one example, when two of his sons were slain by his son's own friend for ideological differences, Rev. Son forgave the murderer for his crime, and soon adopted the criminal as his own son. The former killer later became a preacher
속옷을 가지고자 하는 자에게 우리의 겉옷조차 내주며, 억지로 1마일 가자는 사람에게 2마일을 가는 일또한, 우리의 오기로, 인내로, 처음에는 시작하겠지만, 이것은 우리에게 저절로 나와야 하는 태도 인것이다.
Compared to what Jesus had to, what rev. Son had to do, getting hit, or giving up your tunic is so much easier.
이러한 모습을 가장 잘 그려낸 비유가 “도살장에 끌려가는 양”
<읽기>(사 53:3) 그는 멸시를 받아 사람들에게 버림 받았으며 간고를 많이 겪었으며 질고를 아는 자라 마치 사람들이 그에게서 얼굴을 가리는 것 같이 멸시를 당하였고 우리도 그를 귀히 여기지 아니하였도다 (사 53:4) ○그는 실로 우리의 질고를 지고 우리의 슬픔을 당하였거늘 우리는 생각하기를 그는 징벌을 받아 하나님께 맞으며 고난을 당한다 하였노라 (사 53:5) 그가 찔림은 우리의 허물 때문이요 그가 상함은 우리의 죄악 때문이라 그가 징계를 받으므로 우리는 평화를 누리고 그가 채찍에 맞으므로 우리는 나음을 받았도다 (사 53:6) 우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 여호와께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다 (사 53:7) ○그가 곤욕을 당하여 괴로울 때에도 그의 입을 열지 아니하였음이여 마치 도수장으로 끌려 가는 어린 양과 털 깎는 자 앞에서 잠잠한 양 같이 그의 입을 열지 아니하였도다

예수 그리스도가 우리를 위해, 그리 하셨고, 우릴 살리셨다.
그리스도를 알기 이전의 우리의 모습은 어떠하였는가?
우리의 무지로, 지은 그 죄때문에, 예수 그리스도가 십자가를 지셨는데,
도살장에 끌려가는 양은 예수 그리스도였다.
그가 왼뺨을 때리고 그를 반하였던 우리를 그와같이 Eye for eye로 나오셨다면,,,,, 그와 우리와의 관계는 없었을 것이다.
예수님께서도, 잡혀가시면서 “Put your sword back in its place, for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Do you think I cannot call on my father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?'
그가 우리를 사랑하시고, 모든 악행또한 받아주시는 넓은 사랑 (love as wide as it is)을 보여주셨기에, 우리가 그분 앞에 기도를 할수 있으며, 그분과 함께 살수 있는 것처럼, 우리가 또한 아직 하나님을 모르고 아직 우리를 모르는 자들에게 예수그리스도께서 하신것 처럼, 보여야 한다.
Love and obedience for the Father's will!!! - dominated his life, his action, that even when on the cross he forgave them “Luke 23:34) So did Stephen.
이 모든것을 가능하게 하는 것은 'Grace' 이다. - unmerited favour.
예수 그리스도의 은혜를 아는 자들만이, 우리 주변 사람들에게 은혜를 배풀수 있는 것이다.
예배소서 2장 말씀
1. 허물과 죄로 죽었던 우리를 살리셨다.
2. 우리가 어둠을 따랐으나, 긍휼이 풍성하신 하나님이 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰사랑을 인하여, 허물로 죽운 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고 (너희는 은혜로 구원을 받은 것이라
고린도 전서 10장 23절부터 33절도 비슷한 맥락의 말씀이라.
유대인으로써 먹으면 안되는 음식들 특히 이방신에 제사물로 드려진 음식의 경우, 정하지 않다고 여겨졌으나. 바울은 이는 그들의 tradition에 있는 것이기때문에, 중요하지 않은 부분때문에, 그들의 영혼을 놓치지 말라 하는 것이다. 그러면서 하시는 말씀이
31절 만일 내가 감사핳ㅁ으로 참여하면, 어찌하여 내가 감사하는 것에 대하여 비방을 받으리요. 그런즉 너희가 먹든지 마시든지 무엇을 하든지 다 하나님의 영광을 위하여 하라
유대인에게나 헬라인에게나 하나님의 교회에나 거치는 자가 되지 말고, 나와 같이 모든일에 모든 사람을 기쁘게 하여 자신의 유익을 구하지 아니하고, 많은 사람의 유익을 구하여 그들로 구원을 받게 하라.
내가 그리스도를 본받는 자가 된것 같이 너희는 나를 본받는 자가 되라”
여기에 보면, 할수 있으면 모든 사람을 기쁘게 하여, 그들로도 구원을 받게 하라 – 이것이 Key인것이다.
사도 베드로또한 베드로 전서 3장에 비슷한 말씀으로 당부를 한다.
8절 : 형제를 사랑하며, 불쌍히 여기며, 겸손하며, 악을 악으로 욕을 욕으로 갚지말고 도리어 복을 빌라, 이를 위하여 너희가 부르심을 받았으니, 이는 ㅗㅂㄱ을 이어받게 하려 하심이라.
****** 원수를 갚도록 우리가 부르심을 받고, 은혜를 먼저 받은 것이 아니라, 오희려 그 반대로, 원수 갚은 것을 마치려, 우리가 부르심을 받았고, 먼저 은혜를 받았으며, 그 은혜를 또한 베풀어야 하는 의무가 있다는 것이다.
We were not given grace to retaliate, we were not called before than others to take revenge, and close the door behind us, but it is the opposite. We are to put an end to hatred and revenges, as the ones who received underserving grace. That is our responsibility.
12절 “주의 눈은 의인을 향하시고 그의 귀는 의인의 간구에 기울이시되 주의 얼굴을 악행하는 자들을 대하시느니라” - 의인의 용서의 기도를 들으신다는 것이다.
Our intersession, prayer, and forgiveness go longer.
스데반의 기도, 예수 그리스도의 용서하며, 치는 자들에 대한 기도를 우리는 기억해야 한다.
We need to remember this.
This week is Christmas week. We should spend this week thinking about the love and grace of Jesus. Giving thanks for his patience, peace and for forgiveness he showed on us who were the one 오른뺨을 치고, 속옷을 달라하였으며.
기도 : 예수님의 도살장에 끌려가는 양처럼, 묵묵히 우리를 위해서, 십자가를 지심에 감사합니다. 우리또한도 당신처럼, 아직 당신들을 모르는 자들을 위해서, 성숙하게, 용서하며, 사랑하며, 원수를 갚지 아니하고, 당신이 우리를 받아주신 것처럼, 받아줄수 있기를 기도합니다.
