1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Revelation 5:10 "You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth"
1. God has made us a royal priest.
2. Royal, as we partake in the sovereign power of God through Jesus Christ.
3. Priest, as we undertake the role to give ourselves, our lives and jobs to bring glory and praise to God.
4. Royal Priesthood. This does not have a priority, as two terms are the same. However, human mind plays a trick, and we feel that the first word as an adjective support the latter position - therefore latter being more important. It isn't.
5. Priestly Kingship. Should we use the similar approach, we can even call it this way.
6. Examples 1. - Melchizedek - King and priest.
7. Example 2. - David - King and worship leader
8. Example 3. - Jesus - who brought the new rule/new commands/renewed worship and praise.
There is no hierarchy. We are called to be a priest of God bearing the influence in the world, and a worker of God with worship in our centre of all.
